J.A. Brennan developed the planting design for a new hotel adjacent to a tribal casino. The planting design is composed primarily of indigenous plants to the Pacific Northwest, in an attempt to reflect the local character of the architecture and southwest Washington's landscape. The shaded and semi-shaded planting beds around the hotel are planted to evoke a Pacific Northwest woodland. Incense Cedars flank the building's entry and 4-story stone columns, while huckleberries, ferns and bleeding-hearts inundate the hotel guests in evergreen. The oak-meadow plant community, found in only in Oregon and southwestern Washington, and characterized by Garry Oak and wildflowers such as Common Camas, Tiger Lily and Arctic Lupine is replicated in an open area away from the building, but adjacent to the vehicular entry
