Redevelopment of City of Eureka's waterfront and old town business district is crucial in enhancing the city's tourism and economic activities. J.A. Brennan Associates developed a plan for revitalizing this historic heart of the city, while building on the Victorian character of the Old Town district and bring a nautical character to design for the waterfront.

The master plan and detail design of this 5 block radius of the central waterfront included the design of active people places with plazas leading to a waterfront boardwalk, nautical gateway designs and focal points to draw people in, linkages to the fisherman's work area, and rich site detailing. Coordination between the City, private developers and the public was critical to the process of bringing the project to fruition.
