King County, WA

This regionally significant project builds on the existing Bear and Evans Creek Basin Plan. The comprehensive scope involves new systems mapping, stream study, public involvement, and design plans for stream habitat improvements. King County Surface Water Management has identified Bear Creek and Evans Creek as highly productive salmon spawning and rearing habitat which is in decline due to urbanization pressures.

J. A. Brennan Associates are working with wetland scientists, fisheries biologists and engineers as part of an interdisciplinary team to restore and enhance the riparian corridor. Habitat improvement sites will be located after mapping, stream study and prioritization of fourteen miles of stream including four tributary creeks.

The enhancement of Bear and Evans Creeks provides a unique opportunity for the community to become involved in the protection of the local fisheries resource.
