Potawot Tribal Health Village

The Health Village is nestled into a redwood forest on one edge and adjacent to a landscape that is designed for tribal activities, such as dances, sweats, teaching, traditional gardening and walking. J.A. Brennan developed the master plan and construction documents for the Potawot Indian Health Village, designing an educational and cultural landscape that responds to the traditions and rituals of the united tribes.

The landscape design is based on sustainable design principles and includes stormwater bio-filtration and interpretation of the natural environment. The Health Village offers a courtyard for quiet introspection, a created meandering stream, and a pond system for storm water treatment.
