Duwamish Gardens Shoreline Restoration

Location | Tukwila, Washington
Client | City of Tukwila

J.A. Brennan designed an estuarine fish habitat on a 2.16-acre site along the Duwamish River. The project creates approximately one acre of intertidal estuarine habitat, as well as riparian and upland terrestrial habitat. A trail winds through the upland portion of the site, and a hand-carry boat launch provides water access along the edge of the restored intertidal area. Reflecting the desires of Tribal stakeholders, the project includes interpretive programming that reflects the unique human history of the area.
