Federation Forest State Park ADA Upgrades

J.A. Brennan designed ADA accessibility upgrades to existing park features. The trail upgrades include new trail segments and applying accessible surfacing in an area where excavation was limited due to the presence of tree roots at or near the ground’s surface. A new interpretive program offers exploration of the old growth environment, while new viewpoints and rest areas help guide visitors through the forest and provide opportunities for reflection and enjoyment of the park. A new, relocated trailhead adjacent to the Interpretive Center gathers visitors at the edge of the forest.
