Yauger Park Regional Stormwater Facility
J.A. Brennan collaborated with an engineering firm to seamlessly integrate the design and renovation of an outdated stormwater facility within an existing 40-acre park. The constructed wetland/pond’s form maximizes the amount of edge habitat, increasing the quantity and improving the quality of the habitat for a wide variety of birds and amphibians.
Custom native seed mixes were developed for bio-filtration swales, rain gardens and wetland marsh areas, and an Eco-turf seed mix was selected to reduce maintenance needs and eliminate need for fertilizers adjacent to the stormwater facility. Accessible paths create passive recreation opportunities around the rain gardens, stormwater wetlands, and ponds.
