Bridge Park and Downtown Seawalk

The design for Bridge Park and the Downtown Seawalk builds upon criteria initially developed in Juneau’s Long Range Waterfront Plan. As Juneau’s second waterfront park, Bridge Park will provide another touchpoint to the water and offer greenspace from which residents of Juneau and tourists may enjoy the views of Gastineau Channel. The design team studied the possibilities and developed several alternatives for consideration. Park features include a small-scale active recreation zone, a fishing pier, picnic shelter suitable for rentals, gathering plaza, and the setting for a whale sculpture. The conceptual designs also explore a seawalk connection that would take park visitors over water to experience the channel in a new way.
